Thanks for redirecting me to something better. Thank you for keeping me from going into places that weren’t meant for me.

Thanks for the detours, because they took me to better places — places I didn’t even know existed. Thank You for not allowing me to take second place because You have something much bigger and better for me.

Thank you for all the “NO’s” I received.

Now I know I’m better off without them. Now I know what was done to me. Now I know You were teaching me to be patient because the big “YES” is on the way. The big “YES” is the reason I hear all those “NO’s”.

Thank you for giving me the strength and courage to end things that weren’t meant for me and separate me from all the things that brought me down.

Thank you for ending things in my life even when I wasn’t ready because You were preparing me for something better.

Thank you for removing certain people from my life because they would end up breaking my heart. Thank you for all the sad endings because I know You’re setting me up for the happy. Which will last forever.

Thank you for changing the direction of my life. Thank you for allowing me to realize that there is more than one way to go. There is more than a moment for me to live. There’s more than one destination to go to.

You’re taking me to the place I can call home. You are showing me the light.

I didn’t know what was best for me and I still don’t, but I trust You. I trust You because only You know what is best for me.

I trust You because You hear me cry every night. I trust You because only You know what will make me happy.

I trust You because You will not burden me with more than I can handle and I trust You because You are the only decision maker I can count on.

You are the only teacher I can hear. You are the only one who knows my heart and soul in a way that no one else does.

You are the best planner. I know the Lord has great things planned for me. I know that every “blessing” You delivered me is because one would eventually turn into a curse.

So thank you. Thank you for closing the doors that needed to be closed. Thank you for closing these doors because I know You are about to open better ones, and I can’t wait to see what You have in store for me.
