Couple combines clothes for over 37 years and is successful on Instagram

Tsuyoshi61 years old, and Tomi Seki, 60, have attracted more than 700,000 followers since they started posting pictures on an Instagram profile wearing matching outfits. The cuteness of the elderly couple’s idea and the photos they posted soon attracted followers from around the world.

The profile was named @bonpon511 and was created in 2016. In it, the couple posts, every day, combinations of clothes that they create themselves. The photos are taken from a cell phone, with the aid of a tripod, and convey how passionate the two are and enjoy what they do.

The Japanese couple’s Instagram name is a combination of their childhood nickname 🇧🇷 she is Pon and he is Bon 🇧🇷 with their wedding anniversary, May 11th. In all publications, the couple invests in the use of their own hashtags, such as #over60 (above 60) and #greyhair (gray hair), to increase the reach of the post.

All the success of the two came thanks to the initiative of their daughter. “She took a picture of us and posted it on her Instagram account. She received a lot of comments and then suggested that we create our own account”, Tomi told the The Guardian.

Next month, the couple will launch a collection of clothing and accessories, in collaboration with a designer, for a Japanese department store.

Tsuyoshi and Tomi have always had similar tastes in choosing clothes. But it was through the social network that they better planned the combination of looks. The two never fail to share their choice of look of the day.
