Carol Borba talks about hyper-reactive uterus, which left her hospitalized –

Carol Borba is currently one of the main online coaches in the country, with more than five million subscribers on YouTube and two million followers on Instagram. Last month, she revealed that she is experiencing a minor pregnancy change that causes her uterus to contract as she moves or strains. This is a syndrome called a hyperreactive uterus.

“I’m 33 weeks pregnant, and to be more confident about the baby’s formation, I need to hold it until the 34th week. I’m inhibiting the delivery and reducing the contractions with medication”, said Carol at the time.

Fortunately, she is currently past her 38th week!

WHAT IS A HYPERREACTIVE UTERUS?

In 2021, Bianca Andrade, Boca Rosa, revealed to have gone through the same case during the pregnancy of her son. Other celebrities who also had to face this condition were Angélica, who had it in her three pregnancies, and Shantal Verdelho.

“Unlike Bianca Andrade, I have a short cervix, and the hyper-reactive uterus syndrome contracts and shortens the uterus even more, this is an extra factor to worry about”, he explained.

In addition to contractions, the syndrome causes abdominal stiffness and severe pain in the belly and vagina. What can get worse if the woman doesn’t hydrate properly, practice higher intensity physical exercises, suffer some kind of stress and contract vaginal infections. During prenatal care, Carol Borba’s doctor explained that this could lead to premature birth. Thus, Carol needed to restrict her training and her effort load.
