About Spirulina

This seaweed is one of the best sources of vegetable protein. It contains about 65% of this nutrient, much more than meat (20%), eggs (12%), whole milk (3%), soy (35%) and peanuts (25%). It also contains beta-carotene (ten times more than carrots), vitamin E, minerals, essential amino acids and good fats. “Rich in B complex vitamins, present in red meat, it is essential for vegetarians”, says nutritionist Alessandra Luglio. Extra benefits: A study published in the North American journal Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise states that the antioxidants in spirulina help muscles recover after training.
