6 healthy and delicious drinks that will refresh you in summer

A good hydration It is basic to have an iron health. It is in summer, with the heat and the sun, when we must be more attentive to keep ourselves properly hydrated.

Without a doubt, the best option will always be water. Carry a reusable bottle in your bag or backpack It is a good habit that will guarantee us to always have water available. Even if we are working or studying, having the bottle next to us will help remind us to drink.

But summer arrives and, in addition to thirst, sometimes we feel like cool off the heat with other cool drinks. Although hot drinks can help us regulate our temperature and are very suitable for improving digestion, in our culture it is much more common to opt for cool drinks.

It is very important that we remember that alcoholic beverages, even if they are cold and give us a momentary sensation of freshness, will end up generating more heat and, in addition, they dehydrate us. And it turns out that alcohol inhibits the natural production of antidiuretic hormone. This hormone is in charge of regulating body fluids, and if we do not produce it, our kidneys will not reabsorb enough water and we will become dehydrated.

It is also not a good idea that we opt for sugary soft drinksbecause excess blood sugar can also lead us to dehydrate.

This does not mean that we only have water as an option, but that we can intersperse water with other delicious and healthy drinks.

1. Water, citrus juice or infusion with fruit cubes

The fruit juice cubes are a wonderful way to refresh ourselves and flavor the water at the same time. Although having a juice can be a good idea, especially if we are very active people and need extra energy, with the juice cubes we can cool other drinks. This way we will give them an extra touch of flavor and freshness!

He hibiscus flower tea It has many properties and in summer we have this rich and colorful way of drinking it.

Ingredients:

50 g dried hibiscus flower A handful of pitted cherries, berries or pomegranate 1 level teaspoon ground ginger 1 level teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 liter fresh water Lemon juice cubes

Heat the water and infuse the hibiscus flower and the clean, pitted fruit. When it is warm, add the ginger and cinnamon, and cool it in the fridge. Serve with the lemon juice cubes (or with normal cubes).

3. Light gazpacho

The gazpacho can be our best ally. we can take it very light, without salt, neither bread nor oil, although we can give it a touch of flax oil and apple cider vinegar. Maybe we shouldn’t call it gazpacho, but it is about following your family recipe or your favorite recipe, without these ingredients.

Add a lot of fresh water or cubes before drinking and enjoy what we would now call a vegetable smoothie. Super nutritious!

4. Watermelon juice with lime cubes and mint

Watermelon is one of those fruits with a very high percentage of water. Although it will always be better to eat it whole, with its matrix, because we will have a greater contribution of nutrients and fiber, this soft drink is very easy to make and it is very attractive.

Lime and mint cubes are very easy to make: we make an infusion of mint, either leaf or otherwise. When it is warm or cold, we add the juice of a lime (for each handful of mint or for each infusion envelope). Fill the cooler, wait and that’s it!

Now we only have to blend the necessary amount of watermelon to fill the glasses we need or a pitcher. For each glass, we will add two or three cubes, which we can add to the jug. The flavor of this drink changes as the cubes dissolve.

Another even easier option is to add the mint infusion, already cold, with lime juice to the watermelon juice and reserve in the fridge until we are going to consume it.

It also goes great with melon! You can even add these cubes to a melon soup.

5. Celery and Cucumber Smoothie with Diced Watermelon

You can’t miss this smoothie: it’s about making a celery and cucumber smoothie, lightening it with water and adding the watermelon cubes to give it sweetness and freshness. Personally, I think win a lot with the juice of a lemon for every liter of drink.

6. Pink Lemonade

Pink lemonade has become very fashionable, but if we buy it made it will surely have a quantity of sugar, sweeteners and colorings that are not interesting at all. In addition it is very easy to do at home.
