We all want to do good! Whether for ourselves, for our friends or family, for the planet or for society in general.

No matter how big or small, good deeds have a double impact: we make a positive impact on those we do and feel good at the same time.

Check out this list of 52 ideas to help you do good deeds all year long and make a positive change in the world!

ONE GOOD DEED PER WEEK:

Let your first payment of the year be to a charity.

Help a friend in need.

Volunteer for an hour with an organization of your choice.

Save electricity by unplugging your devices when not in use.

Buy a gift for a family member — for no reason.

Give way to another driver.

Make a list of unnecessary items in your home and donate them to a charitable organization.

Plant a tree.

Think of something you do well and use your talent to benefit others. For example, performing magic tricks in a children’s hospital or playing music in a nursing home.

Teach an elderly person to use a cell phone.

Organize a family meal and enjoy socializing.

Collect stuffed animals or toys from relatives, friends and neighbors and donate them to an organization that helps children.

When you’re on the street, stop and look around. Take time to enjoy nature.
