5 things they didn’t tell you about the law of attraction

The Law of Attraction is something I started to take seriously earlier this year.

I’ve been studying and participating in workshops (online because of the quarantine) so I’m really excited to share my ideas and what I’ve learned so far.

The first time I heard about the Law of Attraction was many years ago, but at the time I confess I didn’t pay attention because, honestly, I didn’t care about it.

It was last year, when I watched the movie based on the book The Secret, that I started to become more interested in the Law of Attraction.

A few months passed and one day I came across a free online workshop on this subject. I knew in that moment that it was a great opportunity to start taking it more seriously.

It was a great experience and I learned a lot. Also, I realized that I’ve been applying the Law of Attraction all these years without even realizing it!

For me, this was critical, because I realized that the Law of Attraction is not bullshit. It’s real and the best part… it works!

Now, after my first workshop, I also felt a little confused. I didn’t know where to start and I also had many doubts.

Then, after a few months, the same woman who introduced my first workshop was offering a more in-depth one. Explaining basically everything I needed to know to move forward with this law.

I am very grateful to have participated in this new workshop (although it was through Zoom). Now I have a guideline to follow. Which makes everything easier!

It also goes beyond just getting what you want. It’s basically a state of mind. What can be so hard to achieve!

So, let’s start with the list of things no one has told you about the Law of Attraction:

1. Before you start, you need to clear your mind of toxic thoughts.

Okay, so yes, you can manifest no matter where your heart or mind is. BUT, that’s not how you start.

If you google: how to use the law of attraction to your advantage, many articles will appear. There are many ways to do this, but none of them will teach you how to make it sustainable in the long run.

The Law of Attraction has an order. An order that is important to follow.

So before you do anything, the first thing you need to do is eliminate those toxic thoughts and limited beliefs from your mind.

How you do it?

Well, it’s not that easy. Especially if you tend to be pessimistic or negative in general.

Start by recognizing these toxic thoughts and limiting beliefs. For example, if you are applying for a job, you will start to doubt yourself.

Your head will start bombarding you with thoughts like, “I’m not good enough for the job, I’m not going to make it, I don’t have enough experience, etc.”

Once you acknowledge this thought, let him know that you don’t need this negativity in your life and what he really needs is to get out of your life. Serious!

So basically you will be in a constant struggle with yourself.

You are capable of anything. You are smart, you are beautiful and yes, your dreams can come true!

2. It’s not about being happy all the time

This is a little hard to explain, and as I studied the law of attraction, I wondered if it meant I would be happy all the time.

Which sounds very disturbing. Can’t I be sad or disappointed?

I realized that there are many misconceptions with the Law of Attraction. For some reasons, some people have started preaching a kind of toxic positivity, which is obviously not good.

Just before writing this, I went through some rough days. That’s when I realized what the Law of Attraction was all about.

It’s not about feeling happy all the time. It’s about having pure, clean feelings.

What I mean by that is, for example, someone cheats on you or hurts you. You may feel sad, angry, etc. What you can’t do is wish ill on the other person.

The same is true of thoughts filled with envy or discouragement.

It’s about you, not others. What others have and what you have are not things you shouldn’t focus on.

The Law of Attraction is knowing that everything will be okay no matter what. It’s about thinking that you’ll get a solution to your problem, even if you’re struggling today. Because you are smart and very capable.

Remember that your thoughts are connected to what you will manifest tomorrow. Therefore, it is important that you keep your heart and thoughts pure. Stay in peace.

3. You won’t see overnight changes

Letting go of toxic thoughts and limiting beliefs can be difficult, but over time you can definitely start over with a clear mind.

The hard part of doing this is that you have to Getting to the root of your thoughts, and identifying them can be an uncomfortable process.

I have analyzed myself a lot during this time. Trying to figure out why I think the way I do and trying to change those negative beliefs is even harder.

For example, not having had a “real job” and not graduating from college would cause people to tell me I’m a failure.

The fact that I am 30 years old and not doing what “normal people” my age do would mean that I have failed in life.

Getting rid of all that is very important, especially when society’s standards influence my way of thinking.

Trusting yourself and believing that you will be okay is hard when society keeps telling you otherwise.

So changing that to start attracting positive things into your life will take some time. Also, take this seriously from the start, because it’s important to start from scratch.

It doesn’t matter if it takes you a month or 5 years. Every day you will learn more and feel better. Trust it!

4. You have to work hard

During the process, you may question yourself and the Law of Attraction. It’s normal and it’s what we do as humans.

When things are not part of the status quo, we will try to fight them.

The recommendation is to start small. With thoughts you can easily believe. This will depend on the person, but try to recognize the ones that are easiest for you.

Or, instead of starting with your thoughts (which most of the time we can’t control), try with actions. Be nicer to people and try to practice to see the bright side of any bad situation you come across.

For example, your brother has hidden your cell phone charger. Instead of getting stressed, just breathe and think what the problem is with that. If you need it, go get it and tell it to ask for it the next time you need it. No offensive words or threats.

Another example would be if you fail a test. Failing sucks, but what’s the upside to that? Maybe this needed to happen so you would know what you need to study more for next time. This will help you come up with a better plan of attack for the next time, etc.

5. You may have to say goodbye to some people

As you clear your mind and spirit, you will notice that some people around you are not as nice as you thought. Or maybe you notice how certain actions with your friends are quite toxic. For example, when you speak ill of someone.

Even though we are so used to people gossiping because it can be funny sometimes, do we stop to think how it affects the other person?

Or maybe you have a friend or family member who loves to share their bad experiences about you. Some people don’t exactly seek help, they just want to vent and drain your energy.

If you decide you don’t want to spend time with these people anymore, it’s okay to say goodbye and you don’t have to feel guilty about it.

They may not understand you or your new life, but at some point it may be necessary to do so.

Sometimes we can’t erase these people from our lives (especially when we’re talking about family members), so we need to learn how to deal with them without affecting our entire process.

Definitely a real challenge, right?!
