4 vegan yogurt brands for those who do not consume animal products –

Who is it vegan knows that it is not always an easy task to find products from this line on supermarket shelves. Many of them, because they are imported, are more expensive and weigh on the pocket – making life difficult for those who opted for the type of food which does not contain any derivatives of animal origin.

However, good news may be close to happening: the Yogurt, main yogurt brand in the world, is studying to launch vegan options for some of its lines, such as Activia and Actimel. The global manufacturer already has brands in this category around the world. One of them is the alpro, in Europe, which have soy and soy-based alternatives with oat, coconut or almond milk. Can you imagine how wonderful it would be if they decided to bring this entire range here?

The news is in line with data released by the IBOPE Intelligence in April 2008: the number of people who stopped eating meat increased by 75% in the country since 2002, which currently corresponds to 14% of the Brazilian population. Of these people, 60% stated that they would consume more items vegans If only they were more accessible.

Although few in the Brazilian market, some brands already produce and sell yogurts vegans. Meet some of them:

A Veg life offers yogurt based on soy, almond, rice or coconut, and its light versions are sweetened with a mixture of organic sugar and stevia (half of each). The 450 ml packages cost around R$ 9.90 and the 170 ml ones, R$ 4.90. The brand also has milks, cheeses and shakes – all of vegetable origin.

2. Nomoo

The Nogurt line, from Nomoo, is based on cashew nuts, has 6 grams of protein in each 180 ml bottle (R$ 8.90), lots of calcium (310 mg), live lactobacilli and has a differential: the only one in Brazil without starch in the formulation. The brand also has vegan cheeses in its portfolio.

The yogurts of brand they have very varied flavors (apricot, red fruits, vanilla, mango and passion fruit, and cranberry and hibiscus) and also have lactobacilli. It is a pity that the 110 ml pots (R$ 9.50) are only sold in São Paulo. Products are sweetened with stevia.

2. Batavo

Soy-based version Naturis by Batavo it is sold in 180 ml and 900 ml bottles and in strawberry and plum flavors. The smaller packaging costs around R$2.49 (super affordable!) and can be found in several Brazilian supermarkets. Contains sugar in the composition.
