3 types of decoration for small apartments

Living in small apartments used to be synonymous with challenge, but not anymore. Every day more people are preferring to move to smaller places that are super well thought out.

Check out 3 inspirations:

current family

The challenge proposed to architects Fabiana Silveira and Patricia de Palma, from SP Estudio (@spestudio), in São Paulo, was not simple. They had to install a couple and their teenage daughter in an apartment measuring just 33 square meters. With planned joinery and use of every centimeter, everything worked out.

Pasme: everyone has a space to call their own. “The couple had the bedroom, which can be integrated into the social area or separated by boreal glass doors. The daughter occupied the old veranda, which was turned into a bedroom and TV room, as the bed doubles as a sofa”, explains Fabiana.

There is even a bunk bed for when they receive visitors. Other furniture has a double function, such as the double bed and the bench in the dining room, both with built-in trunks, and the TV cabinet, which has niches to act as a wardrobe for the teenager. “Multifunctionality is the best solution to gain space”, says the architect.

Easy to use

The owners of this apartment moved from the interior of São Paulo to the capital wanting to be closer to their children, who already lived in the city. The desire was to keep the climate of calm at least indoors. the female architects Bianca Atalla🇧🇷 Elisa Ju and Fernanda Mendonçafrom JMA Estúdio (@jmaestudio), created a refuge.

To make good use of the 35 square meters of area, the veranda was integrated into the living room, increasing the living and dining space. Although the condominium has a collective laundry, the residents opted for a service area in the apartment, disguised with a wall of glass blocks. The trick allows you to insulate the tank without losing light in the kitchen.

“Whenever there is a possibility, add environments. And avoid sturdy furniture that gets in the way. Prefer those with more than one function, such as the breakfast counter, which extends as a TV rack and connects to the dining table”, says Fernanda.

no boredom

Walls are unnecessary in this 24 square meter apartment located in São Paulo. The property was designed to serve those who are not afraid to dare in the design of furniture and objects.

the architects Andre Bacalov🇧🇷 Kika Mattos and Marcela Penteadoby TRiART Arquitetura (@triart.arquitetura), even integrated the bathroom, which appears demarcated only by a metal and glass structure and the orange color painted from floor to ceiling.

“We play with geometries and boxes that delimit spaces without having to build a barrier”, defines Kika. To make the rest uniform, the floor and walls were given the texture of burnt cement.

The closet, in a dark tone, guarantees depth to the environment and houses everything from clothes to kitchen utensils. “It also has a sliding panel on the front, which, when closed, hides the television”, completes the architect. The sofa bed, very spacious and comfortable, is another highlight.
