Anyone who was late for history class had to submit a paper the next day. If more than one student was late, the presentation was in charge of whoever arrived last. The same rule applied to the teacher. One morning we saw two students walking quickly towards the school, late. Suddenly, they both started running at full speed. I was a sophomore in college when my mother was diagnosed with cancer. Somehow I had managed to manage everything around the house, taking care of my mother and completing my work. I used to be late, almost daily. Doing homework late made me sleepy during classes the next day. I was once called into a teacher’s office.
