12 Signs Your Partner Is No Longer Interested in You

Share:

When someone’s behavior starts to change gradually, it could mean that they are no longer interested in you or the relationship.

A healthy relationship depends on balance, honesty and communication to work. And it’s not always easy.

There are barriers and detours that we must overcome, but we must do it together. When a person starts to distance themselves from their partner, despite the effort and love that the other person puts into the relationship, it could mean that they are no longer interested.

Read on for 12 signs your partner is no longer interested in you:

1. He/she prioritizes others and treats you as an option.

Being in a relationship means spending time with each other, and it shouldn’t be like you have to force someone to do that.

If your partner is constantly “too busy” or “has other things to do,” then he or she is not prioritizing your life. He/she is treating you as an option and that is certainly a bad sign.

2. He is self-centered and only seems kind when he wants something from you.

A person who is no longer interested in the relationship will tend to be absent most of the time, but you will see them appear more often when they want something from you.

3. Communication is broken and he/she does not try to resolve this issue…

Most people in a healthy relationship wouldn’t like it if they weren’t able to communicate with their partner.

However, those who aren’t interested in talking don’t seem to care that much. If your partner has stopped calling you, texting you, asking how your day was, or even trying to talk, it’s probably because they’re no longer interested in you.

4. …and when he/she decides to talk, it’s always about himself/herself.

Nothing interests a person who is ready to get out of a relationship except himself.

5. When something goes wrong, it’s always you who is to blame.

Although nothing went wrong, you will be blamed. This is an abusive tactic used to control and manipulate someone, and if this is happening in your relationship, breaking up would be an option.

6. He/she says mean and intentionally harmful things.

If someone is uninterested in continuing a relationship but has been too cowardly to admit it, they will start to disrespect you.

Regardless of whether the two of you are alone in the privacy of your home or with friends in public, he or she will say things that hurt you. Don’t let him/her do it! Disrespect and abuse are things not to be tolerated in a relationship.

7. He/she drains your energy.

Perhaps you have a vibrant personality or have a positive attitude most of the time. Once you are with someone who is no longer interested in you, you will find that these aspects begin to change.

Their smiles fade and their confidence slowly fades. Being around someone who doesn’t have feelings for you can drain your energy little by little.

8. He/she no longer includes you in his/her plans.

Did he/she go to the movies with his/her friends and didn’t invite you? Don’t be surprised. He left you a long time ago.

9. He/she doesn’t care about you anymore.

It’s no secret, someone who is no longer interested is not going to act like they care about you, because they just don’t care.

Most human beings (except psychopaths and narcissists) experience some form of empathy or compassionate response towards someone who is upset or suffering. However, those people who drag you without interest will never show these feelings.

10. He/she says nonsensical things.

You will recognize this very soon as one of the first signs that someone is no longer interested. He/she will say “I love you” or “I’m sorry”, but the words will sound empty. There will be no meaning behind them.

11. You feel worse when he/she is around you.

If you’re happy when you’re alone, but that happiness is suddenly gone when he arrives, it’s time to realize that something isn’t right.

Even if the other person doesn’t tell you they’re not interested, you should conclude for yourself. When you feel bad, emotionally and mentally, because of the way someone treats you, it’s time to move on and live your life.

There’s no excuse for someone to treat you badly, especially if it’s someone you’re in a relationship with.

Your partner should be just that, your partner. The two of you must want to be together and share an equal burden of responsibility. Communication is vital, and if you don’t have that at least, you don’t have anything.
