Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, is a city that has attracted the attention of many people, after all, its large, modern and bold buildings do not usually go unnoticed. In addition, the city has become synonymous with wealth and ostentation, and due to efforts to make it interesting for visitors, today much of its economy is driven by tourism and trade.
O incredible.club I couldn’t miss all this beauty of the city and works that are symbols of modern architecture. Do you like amazing builds? Then join the list below.
10. Palm Islands
The Palm Islands are 3 artificial islands in Dubai that are still under construction: Palm Jumeirah, Palm Jebel Ali and Palm Deira. In the shape of palm trees, one of them, the Palm Jumeirah, which houses the luxury resort Atlantis Tower, has already been completed. The islands are considered one of the greatest works of modern engineering and also the largest sanitation project in the world. The objective of the megaproject is to triple tourism in the city, which, by the way, is already intense.
9. Burj Khalifa
The Burj Khalifa is simply the tallest skyscraper in the world, at almost 1,000 meters high (828 to be precise) and 160 floors, the building that took six years to build combines steel, concrete and glass. The structure has commercial rooms and residential apartments, as well as a belvedere that provides a complete view of the city and the highest restaurant in the world. Everything, of course, in the purest luxury (they say that a night there can cost 11,000 reais).
8. Burj Al Arab
Burj Al Arab is a luxury hotel in Dubai. With a design that resembles a sail boat, the building was built on an artificial island, which is connected to the main island by a bridge. Initially, it was built to be the tallest skyscraper in the world and has also held the position of the tallest building used only as a hotel. The idea of construction, which began in 1994 and was completed in 1999, was to symbolize all the transformation that Dubai was going through.
7. Dubai Water Canal
The Dubai Water Canal is yet another exuberant construction in Dubai. It is an artificial channel that extends for 3 km, having as part of its structure large chains of hotels, restaurants, bike paths, footbridges and a mechanical waterfall that is a spectacle.
6. Rose Tower
Considered the tallest hotel in the world, the Rose Tower is an imposing building that opened in 2009 in Dubai. With an ultra-modern design that looks like a space rocket, this luxury hotel with nearly 500 rooms is yet another symbol of the wealth, engineering and bold architecture that made Dubai what it is today.
5. Jumeirah Beach Hotel
The Jumeirah Beach Hotel is a giant 5 star resort. With almost 600 rooms and 19 villas, the hotel, whose building has a wave shape, is one of the most esteemed in the city and the look is really incredible. To get an idea of the structure of the place, the Burj Al Arab, which we talked about at the beginning of the article, is also part of the resort.
4. The Dubai Mall
The Dubai Mall is considered only the largest shopping center in the world and is located next to the Burj Khalifa complex, which means that in a visit to the city you can already know these two tourist attractions. In addition to containing a large number of shops and restaurants, the Dubai Mall offers great leisure options, such as the Dubai Aquarium and Discovery Centre, which is one of the largest aquariums in the world.
3. Cayan Tower
Another one of Dubai’s skyscrapers, the Cayan Tower is the tallest building in the world with a 90º spiral, as the floors were designed to be rotated 1.2º with each new floor. The result of all this? A breathtaking architectural pattern!
2. Atlantis Hotel
The Atlantis Hotel was the first resort to be built on Palm Jumeirah, the first island of the Palm Islands. The architecture and decoration of the place is based on the legend of Atlantis and the structure even has a themed submerged suite.
1. Jumeirah Al Qasr
The Jumeirah Al Qasr is part of a huge complex, the Madinat Jumeirah, and was designed to imitate an Arab city, with palatial rooms, and following the traditional Arab decoration. The place is pure refinement and has award-winning restaurants and a privileged view of the Persian Gulf and the Burj Al Arab.
All this investment in architecture aimed at tourism came after realizing that the region could not have its economy linked only to oil. And currently, much of the economy comes from revenues from tourism and local trade.
So, would you like to know the region? What sights would you go to first?
