Why are so many smart, modern women still single?

You’ve probably wondered why that beautiful friend of yours is still single and in no rush to start a family. She could joke about it, but the roots of the issue go much deeper. More and more beautiful and smart girls prefer not to have formal relationships.

To give you an idea on this topic, about 50.2% of Americans are single, which is equivalent to approximately 124.6 million people, and there are more single women than married women in the United States. At the Brazil, there are about 80 million singles.

Women have been fighting for their rights for a long time and they are changing the world. More and more girls are getting jobs at the same level or above those held by men and, because of this, they are becoming more independent. They also no longer need to ask men for help to perform certain tasks that require physical effort, because they can simply hire a service from husband-for-hire companies (specialized in electrical and plumbing services, for example) or do it themselves. And sometimes the result turns out to be obtained much faster than if they waited for the husbands to solve the problem.

Nowadays, instead of cooking at home for a husband and several children after work, women prefer to spend and spend their free time on themselves. It seems more attractive to them to go to a spa, beauty salon, shopping or a self-development class than taking care of the kids, cleaning the house by themselves.

When people tell jokes about single women and cats, they’re not really jokes. Women became stronger, more emotionally stable and acquired a higher level of education, thankfully. The modern world offers them virtually the same opportunities given to men and this has affected their way of looking at life. They are not afraid of being alone without a means of support. It would be better to wait for someone like them than to share a life with a man they neither love nor respect.

Nowadays, women are not afraid to show their preferences in relationships. They can live as they believe and no one will judge them as before if they choose a woman as a partner or a free relationship. This, of course, leads to people not getting married, but just living together.

When you earn your own money, take care of your appearance and develop in other fields, you expect to have a partner who is not inferior to you. Modern women cannot accept someone who doesn’t appreciate your efforts and achievements. And they end up not tolerating low standards of relationship. It’s easier to stay single and keep prioritizing yourself.

When men see a beautiful, independent and intelligent woman, they are not so excited to make the first move, because they believe that this type of amazing girl cannot be alone. Also, nobody wants to be rejected.

Yes, a woman’s level of trust towards a man is much lower, due to modern standards and her relationship knowledge. No one wants to get their heart broken, and how many stories do we hear about women being cheated on? The modern world has brought priorities that didn’t exist before and girls have embraced them.
