First things first: what is a Maserati?

The Maserati scene in ‘Money Heist’

In the second episode of season 4 of the series, after Gandía’s escape, there is a tense conversation between Denver and Rio.

Denver tells Rio that he surely has trauma from the torture he suffered at the hands of the CNI.

Specifically, Denver makes him understand that he was sexually abused by government agents and that is why he has left Tokyo.

“How many guys do you know who have left Tokyo?… None,” says Jaime Lorente’s character.

“Tokyo is a f*cking Maserati, everyone wants a f*cking Maserati. If you leave a Maserati in there with the doors open and the keys in the ignition, it’s because you’re really screwed.”

This scene has given us a lot to talk about for several reasons, including reducing the woman to an object, in this case, a car.
