In a survey carried out in Scotland, 8 participants were submitted to the challenge of cutting any food with more than 1% fat from their menu for a week.

The challenge already started when it was time to go shopping, as very few foods contain such a low fat content. Fat-free yogurt, skimmed milk, corn flakes, jelly candies, a few types of fish, lentils, beans and other legumes were some of the items allowed on the supermarket list.

During the week of the experiment, complaints among the volunteers increased: “I sleep and wake up hungry”, “My intestines have not worked for days”, “I am in a very bad mood”.

At the end of the experience, the participants declared that they felt hungry during the process, in addition to bloating, constipation and lack of energy. Tests even revealed that the lack of fat caused increased tiredness and lack of attention in everyone.
