Rosehip oil: use for nails, skin and hair –

Oils are taking over the world of cosmetics. And if before they were limited to the world of hair, now they show their versatility and are also part of skin and nail care. One of the most traditional and beloved oils of beauty is rosehip oil, which has European origin and is obtained from the seeds and fruits of a wild plant that bears the same name. “Its use was widespread a long time ago, at the time of colonization. This oil is obtained from the pressing of rosehip seeds”, comments Roseli Siqueirabeautician and cosmetologist.

BENEFITS OF ROSE MUSCLE OIL

… FOR SKIN

Rich in vitamins like A, C, E, B1 and B2minerals such as potassium, calcium and magnesium and polyunsaturated fatty acids such as linoleic acid (from the omega 6 family) and alpha-linoleic acid (omega 3), rosehip oil has important antioxidant properties and is therefore potent against premature aging.

“In addition, it also acts in maintaining the integrity and regeneration of the skin”, shares the Dr Maria Eduarda Piresdermatologist.

As for usage, Dr Ligia Novaisa dermatologist, explains that “this oil is very versatile and there are no contraindications. You can use it directly on your face or mix it into your moisturizer. I recommend avoiding its use mixed with acids.”

… FOR NAILS

“This oil acts on the nails by hydrating it, maintaining a barrier to prevent water from escaping, which also becomes a protection”, adds Siqueira.

… FOR HAIR

“In the hair, in addition to moisturizing, it is very suitable for controlling frizz and aligning the strands”, says Maria Eduarda.

WHO CAN USE IT?

Despite the oily feel, this product is suitable for all skin and hair types. “Everyone can use and feel the benefits of rosehip oil. It may be that people with oily skin do not feel so comfortable with the product’s feel, but it does not increase oiliness or worsen acne, so it can be used with ease” says Novais.

However, it is possible to find the oil in two versions: natural or essential oil – and in the case of the second version, it is essential to dilute the product.

“The natural oil does not need to be diluted and can be applied directly to the skin or mixed with other products. Now, if it’s the essential oil, you need to add a drop of rosehip essential oil to 10 drops of vegetable oil. Never apply an essential oil directly to the skin, as it causes irritation and even burns, as it is very concentrated” warns Siqueira.
