We tested Walk Dance: a class that mixes walking with dancing –

Imagine the mix: jazz class, ballet, body language and walking. This is Walk Dance, a modality that moves the whole body and burns a lot of calories. The style, created by the choreographer Helo Gouvea, one of the partners of Estudio Anacã (SP), is simple – it can be practiced by anyone – and requires zero technical knowledge. And the walk? It enters in the middle of the choreography, between one dance movement and another.

The class begins with a stretch that helps wake up the body, followed by a quick warm-up. The next step is simple: get into the groove of the music and relax your body. “The modality works with different rhythms. Therefore, it is democratic. On one day you can dance to the sound of samba and on the next, rocked by salsa. The steps range from ballet to contemporary and are within everyone’s reach!”, reveals Soninha Barboza Studio teacher.

And the modality goes beyond fun: in 1 hour, you still work the body muscles in isolation (legs, shoulders and arms) and improve your stretching, motor coordination, sensuality and musicality. Reporter’s Note: If you’ve never taken a dance class out of embarrassment or self-doubt, look for activities like this one. You will definitely leave lighter and in love with the class.
