We explain what a softboy is and why you need to be careful with his charms

Have you heard of the terms soft boy and fuck boy?

The fuckboy is basically the jerk that we have all known, the one who calls you only when he wants to have sex, who ignores you in public spaces, and who dates many more women than you.

He’s a pretty classic character in the movies, and to be honest in real life. Many women no longer fall into her traps, because we already know them.

But obviously, a new type of seductive man always emerges, appropriate to each era, and ours is the soft boy.

What is a softboy?

Urband Dictionary’s definition says that the soft boy is “similar to a fuckboy but without the arrogant attitude. The softboy will seduce a girl by appealing to her emotions and showing a ‘sensitive’ side long enough to sleep with her, regardless of whether “She’s either interested in him or not. So, like the fuckboy, he won’t commit.”

That is, the softboy has the same intentions as the fuckboy: to sleep with you. But instead of being a jerk about it, they will try to appeal to the emotional side.

Afterwards, they won’t call you back either.

How to identify a softboy?

The softboy is not held to traditional standards of masculinity. He likes music more than sports, he likes photography, poetry and he even knows how to talk about feminism.

He will be the first to assure that he does not want to harm you, that he wants you to be free and that is why he prefers that people go against you (a totally valid decision that must be made with conscience and not manipulation). He will tell you everything he thinks you want to hear.

The worst thing about softboys is when they believe their stories, and don’t realize the enormous damage they do.

The problem of the softboy and the fuckboy is not accepting the emotional responsibility that comes with relating to other people, whether as a stable partner or not.

So you know, be very careful with softboys, the wounds they leave usually hurt more than those of a fuckboy.
