Malu Goraieb explains that dry environments, such as the entrance hall, living rooms and bedrooms, can be decorated with wall fabric. “Areas such as kitchens and bathrooms are usually very humid, and the contact of water with the glue can soften, melt and ruin the fabric”, she points out.

The interior designer adds, however, that she does not recommend using wall fabric for those who have rhinitis, as it naturally accumulates dust.

How to apply wall fabric step by step

1. Make sure the wall is clean, smooth and use a level to scratch the line where the paper will be placed;
2. Secure the fabric before applying the glue, ensure that it will not be crooked (sometimes the walls are crooked and this influences the result);
3. Use a wide brush to apply the glue with the water;
4. Press the fabric with a spatula, as if you were going to put an adhesive and go removing the bubbles;
5. Do not glue more than one strip on the same day, wait for the first one to dry, as some fabrics can shrink and create unwanted seams.
