This longing we feel now is a price we have to pay

This longing I feel now is the price I paid for loving you, for insisting when I should have stopped.

I knew that one of us would end up hurting badly, and I also knew that it would probably be me. But still, I chose to move on.

This longing you feel now is the price you pay for letting me go. Not because you wanted to, I know that. And it wasn’t because I wanted to, but because it was necessary.

We ended up at the right time, when we were still at the beginning of our end. I can say that this was one of the most sensible decisions we have ever made in our lives, however, one of the most painful as well.

All the good times we had, all the experiences by your side and every moment we lost our breath, know that I will always keep it. The feeling I have is that we managed to experience the emotions of a lifetime together, within the very short time we had.

I know, it was years, but very few years for our love. The time we had was short. Too short. And the memories will always stay alive with us.

I dare say that if I ever have a memory problem, you will be part of the few memories my brain will insist on keeping. You can be sure that as long as I live, I will remember you.

The price we are paying is very high. Sometimes I still wonder if it’s really worth it, you know? But maybe it’s better to keep everything in the past. Maybe it’s better to let it go and keep trying to think, with each passing day, a little less about it…
