The value of knowing how to enjoy life

If you want to start enjoying life, you have to change your thinking pattern. You can’t control everything that happens, but you always have the option to choose how to interpret it. Be grateful and enjoy every positive event in your life.. Appreciate the company of your loved ones, the fulfillment that your work brings you or, simply, the possibility you have of living each new day.

On the other hand, When a negative event comes before you, decide to deal with it in an adaptive way. Don’t get into a loop of thinking about your bad luck, your lack of qualities, or your inability to get ahead. On the contrary, accept the situation and try to learn from it. But, above all, mentally and constantly remind yourself that you have everything you need to emerge stronger from this event.

Put your coping skills to work, ask for help if necessary. But use your thoughts to love yourself, to encourage yourself, to motivate you and to boost you. Make your mind your greatest ally and not your worst judge. Your thoughts define the way you feel.

Another of the main obstacles that we have to overcome is our tendency not to live in the present. It is truly difficult to enjoy life if we are constantly regretting the past or worrying about the future.. In this way we miss what is happening here and now. We do not allow ourselves to get deeply involved with the people and events around us.

Knowing how to enjoy life consists, first of all, in being present. In putting the five senses in sensations, colors, words and emotions. This is how we postpone happiness thinking that it will arrive at certain key moments. The reality is that happiness is built, every day, with the will to do so. You don’t need big things to happen to enjoy, you need to enjoy the small to make it memorable.
