The pictures from this wedding were amazing, even in the middle of a fire

We’ve already shown a few times that, even in adverse conditions, some couples don’t let the dream of exchanging rings die for nothing in this world. Example: Do you remember the bride and groom who got married even with a cyclone going on? Or the parents who decided to celebrate their marriage in the ICU, just to be close to their premature daughter?

Well, another story along these lines happened last Saturday (9), in the state of Colorado (USA). is that the couple Sara and Michael Kramera native of Fort Collins, had an unpleasant surprise on her wedding day.

They already had everything planned for months: space for the party rented, decor ready, buffet hired… when the unthinkable happened: they received the news that a fire, which started in the southwest of the state, could seriously threaten the safety of the ceremony of the couple – they were going to celebrate the union north of Durango, another city in Colorado.

The solution, amid the possible chaos, was not to cancel the party – quite the contrary. Sara and Michael, at the last minute, were forced to move the event to a close relative’s home. Being further away from the original location, the residence was in a safe location, away from the fire. There, they were finally able to carry out the marriage, without major problems.

However, after it was all over, the couple went out into the street, trying to see some remnants of the natural disaster that, unfortunately, ended up destroying part of a neighboring forest. What they saw was a great flame, which did not seem to end.

That’s where Alexi Hubbellthe photographer responsible for capturing Sara and Michael on the big day, had the idea of using the slightly apocalyptic scene to his advantage.

The result was a jaw-dropping essay, with some photos like this one:

“It’s pretty crazy how something so devastating and scary and dangerous can be so beautiful from a distance,” said the photographer, in free translation for The Denver Channel.

At first the couple were upset at having to move their wedding venue, but they soon realized that the real concern had nothing to do with them, but with those who had to evacuate their homes, or even lost them due to the fire. Even the groom’s uncle had to leave the party to monitor the flames along with the city’s search and rescue team.

Even with all the unpleasant events, the couple considers themselves grateful to be alive and able to celebrate their new journey together. Sara, the bride, made a post on her Instagram, where she thanked the firefighters for making the city’s community safe, and asked for donations from those who were willing to help:

Still in the interview he gave to the Denver Channel, the photographer added:

“I hope that every time they experience difficulties in their relationship, they look back at these wedding photos and think, ‘So, we made it through. There was a giant forest taking pictures right behind us and we survived, so we can survive anything”.
