Despite these home tests, Carol warns that the best way to detect the need for hair is to consult a professional, “the best person to diagnose hair is the hairdresser, but he will not be the only one to participate in this process. For chemically treated curly hair, Carol recommends focusing more on reconstruction. “In the case of chemically treated hair, we will insert reconstruction as a primary care, as the chemistry acts on this hair removing cuticular layers, and as this hair is already thinner, it ends up being more damaged than other hair types”, she emphasizes.
