Hair highlights are one of the most loved coloring techniques by women, the darling of beauty salons. According to hairstylists, the technique is suitable for all skin types and different hair tones and adds luminosity and youthfulness to the appearance.

balayage

Balaiagem is also a well-known technique in the female universe when it comes to lightening the wires. For Simone and Rodrigo, the technique leaves a more natural look, so it is suitable for those who want to lighten their hair with some discretion and give their hair a soft light. “It is suitable for any skin type, but the tone must be defined carefully so as not to be artificial”, say the hairstylists.

Ombre hair and sombre hair

Both are great techniques for those who don’t want to be too radical in change. “The point of light starts in the middle of the hair and goes on intensifying to the tip, with strands that leave the area more marked”, explains Simone and Rodrigo. The two also hint that the coloring can be done in any tone, respecting the gradient from the base.

Sombré hair is a technique very similar to ombré hair, the difference is that its effect is much more subtle and natural. “For the shading effect, it is important to use close tones for the most natural result. The locks are made all over the hair, including the top and not just the ends”, explains Simone and Rodrigo.

Californian

The Californian locks give that long-awaited sunburned effect, very natural. “In this technique, very thin and alternating locks are made, along the length of the hair. From the middle to the ends, the strands become lighter and smoky”, teaches Simone and Rodrigo. Hairstylists already say that it looks good on any type of hair and skin tone.

underlayer

A coloring focused on painting only the underside of the hair, becoming more evident when it is tied up, with a hairstyle. Pro tip: “It can be done in any shade, both with the colors that cause the most impact, and with lighter blonde or platinum shades.”

babylights

An option for those looking for natural lighting on the wires, but don’t want to bet on big changes. “In addition, as the locks are alternated throughout the hair and can still be done outdoors, the touch-up routine is much more flexible”, adds Simone and Rodrigo. Ideal for any hair tone, the important thing is to choose shades close to the natural base to maintain the subtle effect.

bronde

Suggestion for the brunettes on duty, as it is a super lighting on the wires without leaving them blonde for good. The hairstylists add: “the bottom and roots are darker and the lighter strands make up the look, it’s a mix of brown and blonde.”

dip dye

For those who really want to dare and change their look a lot, try dip-dye. “The technique is similar to the ombré hair and the Californian one, however, in dip-dye, the fun is with colors. The technique will give the idea that the ends of the hair were dipped in a pot of paint”, explains Simone and Rodrigo.

splashlight

A new lighting technique that mimics the effect of a sunbeam on a hair band. “The technique is to apply a point of light in a horizontal line, more or less at the height of the ears. The lock can be made in any shade, depending on whether you want to leave it subtle or marked”, concludes the professionals.

How to choose the ideal tone?

1. For those with light skin and eyes, bet on locks in blonde, beige, gold, champagne and greyish tones. As for brunettes, because the natural threads are darker, the most suitable tones are brown, usually with a reddish background, honey, copper, gold and acaju.
2. Who is starting to invest in locks, but is afraid to change radically, starting with some thin locks to lighten the locks is the best option.
3. Women who like a powerful look can go with everything in blonde tones, with locks that come out from the roots to the ends.
4. You can also choose to make your locks with two or more colors, thus creating various effects. This trick thins the face, elongates the silhouette and hides dark circles.
