Stay away from everything that takes you away from yourself

Stay away from what hurts you, from what darkens your life, stay away from what becomes sinister. Stay away from everything that has no remedy, from everything that is subjugating your well-being. Stay away from everything that takes you away from yourself.

Put emotional distance from pain, rejection and betrayal, observe them and learn. Manage your fears, control your demons. Be aware that suffering is optional. Don’t disguise your reality, live it.

Keep close what comforts you, that does not shoot to kill, that does not force you to lose. Give a chance to a new style of play and take care of yourself, don’t break yourself into pieces, don’t force yourself to lose part of yourself.

The emotional imprint of pain

We often let the hands of the clock move around its dial without interference while they tear off the pages of our calendar without pain or glory. We disconnect from the world, we isolate ourselves from reality and let life pass without thinking about the consequences.

But Disconnecting our conscious part from the unconscious has its consequences. We are not saying that we have to be hyper-reflective, we are talking about becoming aware that what causes us pain is precisely our intention to avoid it.

Suffering cannot be separated from life, but we constantly strive to exceed its limits and try to ignore it. Sadness is not bad, nor is worry or even anger.

Each one brings us knowledge. That is, that Feeling suffering is necessary if we want to feel pleasure. That’s why if it’s about avoiding something, what we have to do is not play hide and seek with our emotions.

There will always be something that hurts us

It is impossible to achieve a life without toxic emotions or people who “they make it bitter for us”. Likewise, it is impossible to live without something that gives us pleasure or gratification. That is why we must be fair thinkers and thank the “suffering” everything that it gives us.

In other words… Who hasn’t thought that that stab in the back they received didn’t help them mature? Who has not realized that if he is strong today it is because he was weak yesterday?

For everything in life there is a counterpart. We couldn’t feel happy if one day something didn’t make us sad. However, although this reasoning is sufficient, it is always difficult for us to accept it in practice.

Life sometimes hurts, sometimes it’s tiring, sometimes it hurts. This is not perfect, it is not coherent, it is not easy, it is not eternal, but despite everything, LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL.

So In the end we end up being the ones who feed and self-generate our suffering. This works with the snowball effect. Something hurts us, we try to avoid it, we hurt ourselves more, we allow it to accumulate, we suffer from not being able to get rid of the pain and, as a result, we get a big snowball of what started out as a single flake of ice water.

Now, with that snowball we have the possibility of making a nice doll or letting it crush us. As we see, once again it is about options, paths, forks.

If we simplify each situation in our lives like this, we will obtain a master key that will open all those forces that allow us to move forward. Basically it is about considering two options: accept the path or reject it and suffer for trying to avoid it.

If we accept, we grow. If we reject we will always live under the yoke of avoidance. If we resist accepting suffering and damage as an inherent part of life, we will only add to the anguish.

If, on the other hand, we accept it as natural, we will free ourselves from anxiety, which will allow us to cope with our lives without the great burden of the intense and constant game of hide-and-seek.

In short, we cannot fight against ourselves because, if we do, we will be winner and loser. And dying to live is not worth it.
