SOS burn: learn how to soothe the skin and avoid peeling –

Fooled, didn’t apply solar filter and burned? Check out the tips from Flavia Piza, dermatologist from São Paulo and member of the International Society of Dermatology, to soothe the skin and avoid peeling

1. Bet on an after-sun lotion based on chamomile or calendula, which alleviate the burning sensation. Gel products have a more refreshing effect.

two. Spray cold thermal water on the affected area – rich in minerals, it has an anti-inflammatory effect. Cold chamomile tea compresses also help soothe inflammation and soothe the skin.

3. Drink plenty of water as it fights dehydration caused by sun exposure.

4. Consume foods rich in vitamin C (orange, lemon, strawberry, mango) and E (chestnuts, almonds, green leaves) rich in antioxidants that neutralize free radicals, recovering the skin.

5. If you are feeling a lot of pain, take an analgesic that contains dipyrone or paracetamol, active ingredients that are more suitable for this case. If the injury is more serious, however, look for a dermatologist who can analyze it and recommend a corticosteroid-based cream. If blisters appear, they may need to be drained at the doctor’s office.
