Sick minds: Fernandito, the boy whose mother took his eyes to save the world

It was in 2012 when Fernandito, five years old, He completely lost his sight after his mother put out his eyes to avoid “the end of the world.”

In Nezahualcóyotl, State of Mexico, the minor’s family prayed because they believed that that year would be the end of the world. Neighbors even pointed out that “For days religious music and strange voices could be heard”.

On May 24 of that same year, the music and prayers intensified, but that was not all, the neighbors They heard the heartbreaking scream of a child.

Immediately, several came out of their house to see where the screams were coming from and saw a young man running out of that place shouting: “Help, they’re killing him!”.

The neighbors tried to calm him down and without thinking twice, called a patrol car. Upon arrival, the officers heard the screams that did not stop and tried to enter the home, but the door was closed, so they proceeded to force it.

After several attempts, they managed to enter and, what a surprise they got! scene they witnessed was really creepy: A lady was hugging a small child, who was wrapped in a pool of blood. As she approached to see what was happening, she realized that He didn’t have one eye and the other barely hung..

The mother, identified as María Del Carmen Ríos, along with her sister, were responsible for the crime, which committed only because Fernandito did not close his eyes to pray. They grabbed him between the two of them; His sister held his head, and his mother He tore out his eyes with his own hands.

When the family was arrested, a toxicological test was performed on them to find out if they were under the influence of drugs or some other illicit substance, but when the results came back negative, it was learned that at all times They were aware of what they were doing.

Fernandito was flown to a hospital to see if he could recover the eye that was left hanging, but all efforts were impossible.

Finally, the six members of the family received 30 years in prison, while the minor’s mother, in addition to being in prison, was fined 105 thousand pesos.

After what happened, the DIF gave custody of Fernandito to his paternal grandparents, while his father was in charge of taking him to the foundation to continue his treatment. However, one day he stopped doing it and that was the last that was heard of the boy.
