Shampoozada: learn how to lighten your hair with this technique

Shampoozada is a gentle discoloration technique used to clean unwanted pigments from the hair. This deep cleaning will get the old color out of your hair and prepare it for a new color.

This technique can also be used to repair a coloring error or discoloration that was made in your hair, as it can open up to 2 tones in the wires, depending on how long you let it act.

We also spoke with the hairdresser Carla Visintini to clarify some doubts regarding the shampoo. Know what you should and shouldn’t do:

How to shampoo?

With just a few ingredients, which you already have at home, you can make this technique for cleaning your hair. It’s very simple and fast, check it out:

Ingredients

  • bleaching powder
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Neutral or regular shampoo

Step by step

  1. Always using the same meter, place a measure of bleaching powder in a container;
  2. Add two measures of hydrogen peroxide. The volume will depend on the situation of the wires. For more fragile hair, such as platinum, use volume 10 hydrogen peroxide. For healthier hair, use volume 20;
  3. Add two measures of traditional or neutral shampoo;
  4. Mix well;
  5. Apply to wet hair and massage in for about 15 to 30 minutes. The time can also vary according to the desired tone. Pay attention to the hair, when you see that it has reached the expected color, rinse immediately.

Very easy, right? But be very careful, you should not leave it on your hair for too long. If you feel insecure, look for your hairdresser and have the procedure done at the salon.

Avoid using anti-residue shampoo in shampoozada, as it can damage your hair.

Who is it for?

How to know if shampooing is a good technique to face the problem in your hair? Carla gave some tips for you to identify.

Shampoozada is indicated for cleaning the color of the wires, so that it can receive a coloring again and it lasts longer. It is ideal for blondes who have had their hair turned green by chlorine or sea water. As well as for those who have lead, dull and gray hair or who have excess pigmentation or some toning product.

It is even recommended for those who have not had any major problems with colored hair, such as a faded dye. Before touching up the color, it is recommended to shampoo.

Carla also remembers that it only works when the pigment is on the surface of the hair, in the cuticle. In more intense cases, shampooing will have no effect.

Does shampooing on virgin hair work?

If shampooing is a milder bleaching technique, can it be used to bleach dye-virgin strands?

According to Carla, the concentration of bleach and peroxide is too low to have an effect on natural hair. This process can damage the hair, as it is an alkaline product, and not discolor the hair, as expected.

For an effect similar to shampooing on natural hair, a traditional bleaching or toning is indicated. Because shampoozada works only for color cleaning, since it has no color added to this thread, this technique will not work.
