Rest in peace

If you have lost someone you will know the importance of saying goodbye to that person. There are times when it is not possible and, for this, there are a series of activities that can be done afterwards.

The expression “rest in peace” comes from Latin and began to be engraved on tombs in the mid-8th century with the aim of wishing that the soul of a deceased person would find peace after death. That is to say, with this prayer, in addition to wishing peace to the deceased, those who watched his death would remain somewhat calm thinking that, somehow, he would pass on to a peaceful life in the afterlife.

These types of thoughts and other mourning rituals help to accept the fact that the person in question has lost their life. They provide emotional support by sharing the process with others and help channel pain and other feelings.. In this sense, the thoughts and behaviors that happen after death can make the difference in how grief develops.

Unfortunately, There are losses in which there cannot be a farewell and, therefore, it is necessary to do some kind of ritual after death. In some cases, this farewell can be done individually and independently, but in others it might be advisable to go to a specialist to do it.
