Research reveals what annoys men and women most about using the bathroom (and the main differences between them and them)

In the “war of the sexes”, the bathroom seems to be the preferred battleground for couples. She takes so long to get ready in the morning, he never puts down the toilet seat. She leaves several beauty products on the sink, he usually hides there so he can have a few minutes of peace. Who washes their hands the most? Who does the most flushing? Are there gender differences in toilet paper use?

Interestingly, research institutes, companies and universities have pursued these answers, either to understand subtle differences between men and women, or to develop new hygiene and comfort products for the most secret place in the house.

O awesome.club consulted several surveys and shows some surprising data about female and male habits. While there are many differences, we can detect a global trend: almost everyone likes to use their cell phone in the bathroom!

Men hide in the bathroom to “escape” from the family

An English survey showed that a third of the men interviewed use the bathroom as a haven of peace. They do this when they want to get rid of the demands of wives and children. There, they can read the news or check messages on their cell phones without being disturbed. However, one in ten of these “escapes” ends up being interrupted.

“The bathroom is like a sanctuary where we can retreat from the outside world, even temporarily,” said a spokesman for bathroom equipment company Pebble Gray, which commissioned the research.

Among respondents, 45% said it’s a “struggle” to carve out some time for themselves indoors. A quarter of them commented that their wives complain about their busy lives.

But not only men use the bathroom as a hiding place. Among the women surveyed, the fifth part also admits to locking themselves in the bathroom in search of a few minutes of peace.

Women wash their hands more than men

Another survey conducted in England revealed surprising data: 62% of men do not wash their hands after using the bathroom. But women are not so far behind: about 40% of them also do not use water and soap after their needs.

The survey was commissioned by a company specialized in hygiene interested in launching a technology with sensors that would count how many people visited the bathroom and how many used the liquid soap container. The statistic would discourage the lazy, especially in company bathrooms.

Toilet paper folded or balled up?

Even the famous MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), in the United States, is concerned with hygienic habits and their differences between the sexes. In a small dossier on the functions and use of toilet paper, the institute cites curious data:

52% of men fold or roll up toilet paper before use and 32% of women use the same technique. 38% of men ball up toilet paper and 52% of women do the same. 6% of both men and women say they have no preference. 4% of men and 3% of women were unable to answer.

But a survey carried out by the American data institute YouGov shows that the morning timer of men and women is not as discrepant as common sense judges:
