On the morning of Wednesday, December 21st, browncountry singer of the duo with Bruno, appeared in Instagram Stories to tell that he went to Hospital São Luis, in São Paulo, after experiencing severe heartburn and burning.

Following the videos, lying on a stretcher at the health unit, the singer reported that he underwent an endoscopy and was diagnosed with esophagitis. In a good mood, he took the opportunity to reassure fans about his health.

“Look where I am, I’m at Hospital São Luis, in São Paulo, I had an endoscopy, boring ‘train’, right? But, thank God, everything is fine. I had a lot of burning, a lot of heartburn and I had esophagitis, ”he said.

What is esophagitis?

According to doctor Eduardo Greccogastrosurgeon and endoscopist, esophagitis is an inflammatory process of the esophagus, the tube that connects the mouth to the stomach.

Most of the time, this condition is caused by habits that stimulate reflux, which consists of returning stomach acid to the esophagus.

“This reflux ends up generating inflammatory processes in the esophagus and, with that, the individual begins to feel pain”, he points out.

Patients diagnosed with esophagitis may experience symptoms such as heartburn, burning, difficulty swallowing, coughing and chest pain.

To prevent it, it is essential to have a healthy diet, avoiding fried foods, coffee, alcoholic beverages and soda, in addition to not smoking. “It is also recommended not to eat dinner too late, as this can lead to reflux during the night,” adds Dr. Edward.

He warns that, if there are any symptoms, it is important to seek a doctor so that the problem does not become more serious.
