Man arrested for keeping wife as a sex slave

A 44-year-old man was sentenced to 12 years in prison for rape and beat his wife. Her name was not released to preserve the woman’s identity, which was also made up of sex slave for three years. The case took place in Greater Manchester, a metropolitan region in the northwest of England.

According to the Daily Mail, the boy would wake up his partner in the early hours of the morning, ordering her to have sex with him. On one occasion, the husband, who has three children with his wife, hit the victim while she was pregnant with their fourth child, causing an abortion.

During the trial, it was stated that the young man had a “rabid sexual appetite”, which demanded intercourse with his wife three times a day. In another violence, the victim was beaten with a leather belt, while one of the couple’s children heard her screams from her room. “I only hit her twice,” argued the assailant when he was arrested.

The criminal was convicted of three counts of rape. He also had coercive and controlling behavior. He denied the rape allegations but admitted to the assaults.

Control

According to the court of Minshull Crown, which carried out the trial, the couple met in 1993 and married in 1995, but the abuse happened between 2015 and 2018. Prosecutor Darren Preston claims that, towards the end of the relationship, the husband became increasingly abusive, controlling and violent.

“She felt unable to react to him, protect herself from him, end the relationship or resist orders to have sex two to three times a day,” says Preston. “In addition to the demands, he controlled her by constant phone calls and texts telling her to say where she was and clamoring for her attention when she wasn’t home,” she reveals.

The prosecutor even revealed more details of the abuse that the woman suffered. According to him, the attacker woke her up in the middle of the night and ordered her to cook for him. “On one occasion, when she got home from work, he started throwing things around the house, calling her nasty names like ‘put *’ and ‘bitch,’ and smashed two phones,” he says.

When the woman tried to fight back, the husband would verbally and physically abuse her, hitting her arms and legs. “She was covered in bruises on her arms and legs. Aside from the cuts on the face, there were no other lasting injuries.” The couple’s children were too scared to intervene and stop the father from hitting the mother.

On the day the victim was beaten with a leather belt, they had fought before the woman went to work. Instead of returning at the time her husband always asked, she went shopping. When she got home, she went to sleep, but during the night, the man woke her up and demanded that she prepare tea for him. She prepared and went back to sleep.

However, the husband woke her up again, putting his hand between his wife’s thighs. Later, she was awakened by her assailant stuffing a blanket into her mouth while hitting her with his belt.

“The son heard the incident and called the police as he was too scared to stop his father,” says Preston.

Defense attorney Mark Fireman said in court that there is evidence that “he raped her while she was pregnant and shortly afterwards she had a miscarriage”.

Judge Bernadette Baxter told the defendant: “Unfortunately you treated your wife like a possession and did with her as you pleased. You were violent. You didn’t hear her protests when she didn’t want to have sex, and you violently suppressed her protests. You raped her repeatedly, sometimes more than once a day.”

Still according to the judge, the defendant did not reflect any remorse with what happened and also stated that he has no memory of what he did.
