Although plastic pots are charming, violets do well even in clay pots. They absorb excess moisture that can rot the roots.

Do not wet the leaves, as they will rot. If you usually only put water in the dish, water the soil once a month to reduce the concentration of mineral salts. Another detail: violets hate chlorine. To eliminate it, boil the water and let it cool before watering, or use mineral water. In summer, water twice a week. In winter, only one.

Violet needs light, but it can’t stand direct sun. The ideal environment is a place with a temperature around 25º C, where the sun’s rays are filtered through the glass of a window, for example.

How to fertilize
There are specific chemical fertilizers for violets. Vary this fertilizer periodically, alternating with bone meal and worm humus.
