Analyze your child’s drawings and understand what they mean

But how to identify in these traits signs of anguish, anger and sadness? “Parents should ask their children to draw, observe, ask questions, talk to them”, advises psychologist Andreia Calçada. Analyze design and attitudes
Drawing should be seen as one more detail in the child’s behavior, and not in isolation. The child puts on paper his emotional contents and the way he observes the world. Understand what it means:
Feature – Notice if your child’s trait is weak, almost invisible. It could be insecurity. Now, if he makes a very strong line, it can represent anguish.
How to act: Praise and encourage your child to express emotions (happiness, anger, sadness…).
Colors – Excessive red can be a sign that the child is suffering or seeing many scenes of violence. Black could be depression.
