Iyengar Yoga: How to Do Padanghustasana and Padahastasana |

In Yoga, two postures play an important role in the purification processes as they reduce the accumulation of fat around the waist and abdomen and act on the internal organs, preventing and curing constipation and other diseases of the digestive tract. They are: Padanghustasana and Padahastasana Padanghustasana.

Padanghustasana is the thumb-to-foot pose, and Padahastasana is the hand-to-foot pose. Push-ups improve digestion, eliminate flatulence and clean the rectum and anus. They massage the liver, spleen, pancreas, kidneys, bladder, uterus and ovaries.

Good blood flow is brought to the spinal nerves and muscles that are stretched and toned during this flexion where the vertebrae separate stimulating circulation around the spine and nourishing it.

The calves are stretched relieving varicose veins and aiding in return to the heart.
