It’s okay not to feel so good – GOOD FORM

There are days when we are ecstatic and super excited, but on others not so much. And you know what? Everything is fine!!! Not so pleasant emotions are also part of it and it is extremely important to accept and welcome these moments!

First of all, I want to explain something to you: emotions are part of us, but we are not our emotions!

How so Pri? You sometimes feel angry, but that’s not why you’re an angry person!

The analogy is this: we are a boat sailing on the ocean of emotions. Some waves are more like a small wave and barely move the boat, others are almost a tsunami that arrive shaking everything. But whatever it is, we are the boat and not the waves! We maintain our stability and learn to sail as the sea is!

That is why it is of fundamental importance that we learn to develop conscious emotional regulation, in order to deal with whatever happens. After all, our days are full of events and distractions, which can take us off track and impact our well-being.

And what does that have to do with not feeling so good? All! It is essential to allow yourself to feel all emotions, whether they are “positive” or “negative”, they are part of us! There are days when we feel more downcast and it would even be rude for us to ask to drastically change our mood and start laughing for nothing.

Who out there has seen Pixar’s ′′ Fun ′′ movie? I strongly recommend it if you haven’t seen it yet! But in general and without spoilers, the film shows our primary emotions: joy, sadness, anger, fear and disgust, and aims to raise awareness that all emotions are important!

Sadness is fundamental for us to value some things in our lives, fear is essential for us to survive, joy gives us the will to live and the courage to face it, disgust protects us from getting into some unwanted situations and anger is great for us. teach us to be more resilient.

Banishing ourselves from feeling any emotion is bad for our mental health and very detrimental to feeling positive emotions afterwards. We need all of them to live, after all, life is made of ups and downs and if at some point it stops, it means that it has come to an end.

So if you’re having a bad day:

Remember that all this will pass
Stop and realize what you’re feeling
Think about whether there is something specific going on in your life that makes you feel this way.
Try to name your feeling and welcome it the way it is
Spend as much time as necessary until you feel good enough to do something to change your situation.

Then you can implement some tools to feel better (https:///blog/priscila-conte-vieira/o-que-fazer-em-dias-dificeis/ ) but the idea is not to drown out the feelings, okay? Let’s go on this journey together!
