I’m tired of waiting for you to change

You said you were going to change, so I decided to believe and wait.

I waited for the right attitudes, which you didn’t take.
I hoped you’d be okay, when in fact, you did everything you could to screw up your life.
And it wasn’t just your life, you know?
It was our life.

Whenever there’s someone besides me, it’s us.
But that’s not how you thought and went out doing everything against it, like an angry teenager when, in fact, he has to face the fact that he’s a grown man.
But still, I kept hope,
I believed in you, in the conversations we had.

You would never change for me if it didn’t make any difference to change for you.
So I got tired of waiting.
I sat down, took a deep breath and decided for us, as it always was.

You never had the courage to take action,
But, in contrast, I was never one to wait, but for you, I waited.
Just one more reason to prove that I was always right to make the changes I wanted in my life, and not wait for someone else to make them.

Then I woke up.
I don’t know how, I just know that something in me blossomed.
The teenager I always kept alive in me gave way to the woman I always was.
And then you were gone, boy.

I grew up,
Developed,
I saw the best of me bloom inside,
But I didn’t see that in you, so I had to leave, because there were no more us.

I just want to say it wasn’t so lightly,
Because I suffered, I cried for not getting the best of you,
But at that moment, I needed the best of me,
And you, as much as I wanted to, weren’t the best for me.
