Verses about Faith in Action

James 2:14-26 What good is it, my brethren, for someone to say that he has faith, if he does not have works? Can faith save you? If a brother or sister is in need of daily clothing and food and one of you says to him, “Go in peace, warm and feed yourself until you are satisfied,” without giving him anything, what good is that? ? So also faith, by itself, if it is not accompanied by works, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith; I have works”. Show me your faith without works, and I will show my faith by works. Do you believe that there is only one God? Very good! Even the demons believe – and tremble! foolish! Want to make sure that faith without works is useless? Was not Abraham, our forefather, justified by works, when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar? You can see that both faith and works were working together, and faith was made perfect by works. Thus was fulfilled the Scripture which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called a friend of God. See that a person is justified by works, and not by faith alone. A similar case is that of Rahab the harlot: was she not justified by works, when she received the spies and sent them out another way? As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead.

2 Timothy 4:7 I fought the good fight, I finished the race, I kept the faith.

Matthew 5:16 In the same way, let your light shine before others so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

1 Thessalonians 1:3 Because we remember before our God and Father how you put your faith into practice, how your love made you work so hard and how firm your hope is in our Lord Jesus Christ.

What does the Bible say about faith?

The Bible talks a lot about having faith in God’s love and sovereignty. When we do, while we don’t have the promise that things will be easy, we can know that God is with us in good times and bad, that he cares about us. He gives us victory in any and all…
