The first impulse you get after rejection is usually not the best way to go. 1. Make a list of how lovable you are

When the person you like doesn’t feel the same way about you, it’s good to remember the things you like about yourself. You’re kind, and even if you forget that sometimes, I’m sure there are things about you that you like. If you’re having a hard time rebuilding your self-esteem after rejection, just think about all the things what your friends have said about you and write them down – because those nice things they said are totally true. True friends are sincere!

This exercise may seem like a kind of self-help, but it’s important to regain your self-esteem when you’ve just stumbled on a rock of rejection.

2. Recognize that it wouldn’t be as good as you thought it would be.

When the person you care about doesn’t reciprocate that feeling, you may experience some sense of loss. Clearly, the relationship you were hoping for with this person is not going to happen. The best way to get over it is to recognize that it was a relationship you built in your head.

It makes it easier to let go of the future you were hoping for when you realized you’re grieving over something that hasn’t happened yet.

A relationship will always be different from what you imagined, and even if you feel like your fantasy had some potential, it wouldn’t be scripted exactly.

You can channel the feelings you had for a person back to you, your friends and family, and consecutively continue towards what you want. The only difference is that this person will not be there with you – and it is their right to have made that choice.

3. Go for the relationship you want!

If you like someone, it means that you are totally receptive to love. This is beautiful and amazing, and it’s actually rarer than you might think. Especially these days.

Not everyone is open to giving and receiving love, but from the moment you are, you know you really might want a relationship and go for it!

When you know you’re open to connecting with someone, you make the idea of ​​dating and flirting that much more passionate.

Don’t think that just because that person didn’t want to be with you that no one else will. Something didn’t line up between you and the person who rejected you – and it’s no one’s fault, that’s normal. Be open to taking advantage of new opportunities to come!
