How to use facial cleansing oil and the benefits this technique offers

Did you know that using oils for facial cleansing can be one of the most efficient ways to remove impurities and unclog pores? This cleaning technique is known as Cleansing Oil. In addition to leaving the skin clean, it promotes deep hydration, which is essential for all skin types.

According to dermatologist Luciana Kalache, the principle of action of oils on our skin comes from the assumption that like dissolves like, that is, water-soluble solutions are dissolved in water, oily solutions must be dissolved in oil. Therefore, using oils for facial cleansing may work better than other types of products.

Find out which oils can be used for this purpose, from natural to industrialized, their benefits and indications for each skin type. Check out:

What oils to use for facial cleansing?

You can choose industrialized or vegetable oils. According to Luciana Kalache, industrialized oils act faster in the cleaning process than natural ones. If you prefer vegetable oils, we will present here the most common ones that have incredible properties with excellent benefits.

Coconut oil

It is a great moisturizer, has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antifungal properties. Spread the product on your hands and apply to your face as if it were a face cream. Then, just remove with cotton and wash your face with a soap suitable for your skin. You can use it for both routine cleaning and makeup removal. The result is spectacular.

jojoba oil

With anti-inflammatory action, jojoba oil is excellent for both the treatment of acnes and the fight against dryness, in addition to hydrating and cleaning the skin very well. With the skin previously cleaned with a soap suitable for your skin, apply a small amount of oil on your face and massage for a few minutes. Dip a towel in warm water, wring it out and place it on your face for about a minute. This will help to unclog pores and remove impurities. Finally, use the towel to wipe off any remaining oil. Ready! Clean and hydrated skin.

Castor oil

An oil with an astringent effect, with many nutrients and capable of reducing bacterial proliferation. To cleanse with castor oil, pour a little on your hand and then apply to your face. Let it act for a few minutes and finally wash it off with the soap suitable for your skin.

There are a wide variety of vegetable oils, look for the one that best fits your skin type and meets your needs, as per your doctor’s advice. Always prefer extra virgin, cold-pressed oils that are free of minerals that can clog pores. All the oils mentioned, and other vegetable oils, are found in health food stores, cosmetics and even in some pharmacies.

Are oils suitable for those with oily skin?

In an interview with dermatologist Luciana, she explains that following the principle that all skins need hydration, there is no contraindication for the use of oils.

For patients with more oily skin, Luciana usually recommends a double cleaning: “After applying the oil, I recommend a suitable soap, sometimes with some kind of acid for a complete removal of any remaining oil”.

That is why it is essential that each case is seen individually in order to find the best option according to your specifications. This way the results will be more significant and without the risk of harming your skin.
