He knows I wake up late on Saturday, so the “good morning” always comes in the middle of the afternoon. He knows that when I cry, chocolate makes me laugh, but he also knows that afterwards my conscience weighs heavily and then he drags me to the gym.

He has traveled with me by car, bus, plane and train. It’s the best company you can have. In Italy, we drank so much wine that we didn’t know how to go back to the Hotel, so we stayed on the bridge until dawn and the hangover passed.

Every time it rains, he brings popcorn, brigadeiro and chooses the movie. He makes me safe, hugs, tickles, irritates and teases. He’s put up with me crying all night long and stood there firm and strong. Only he can talk to me when I’m mad at the world.

He’s the one who knows my hiding place when I don’t want to see anyone. He’s seen “A Matter of Time” with me over ten times and whenever I need to forget something he brings the beer. And we drink ourselves to sleep in the living room.

He has known me for nine years and has protected me ever since. He’s my best friend, my soulmate, my love, who I would go to the end of the world with if I had to. With him I walk with my eyes closed because he sees me inside.
