He never stopped being honest with me, even when he knew I wouldn’t like to hear it.

He knows how to say no to me when I need to hear it, so he teaches me not to be selfish and to be understanding.

He gets on my feet when I don’t take care of my health, so he teaches me that loving is caring even though it’s boring sometimes.

He prefers to keep quiet and not talk to me when he’s upset, so he teaches me that hurting because of the moment of anger is not worth it, because anger passes and our love doesn’t.

He insists on arriving by surprise at my house to see me disheveled, so he teaches me that love goes beyond appearances.

He doesn’t care about big gifts or fancy places, our best day is watching something together in my living room with the uncomfortable sofa, so he teaches me that company is more important than place.

He doesn’t know how to make surprises, when he wants to introduce me, he shows me what he bought, so he teaches me that when it’s from the heart, there’s no surprise that overcomes.

Some seek perfect people, with countless qualities, a true prince of a Mexican soap opera.

But to be honest, I love the imperfections of our love.
