Emily Blunt on ‘Mary Poppins Returns’

Playing a role that once was Julie Andrews is a daunting proposition even for the winner of the Golden Globe emily blunt🇧🇷 she star Mary Poppins Returns, sequel to the 1964 classic, winner of five Oscars. “I would never try to imitate her”, said the actress to CLAUDIA about the invitation received from director Rob Marshall in mid-2015.

The British avoided watching the original film again. Instead, she delved into PL Travers’ books to find her version of the fun but strict nanny. In the plot that premieres this month, Mary Poppins returns to the Banks brothers’ house 20 years later. Now adults, Jane (Emily Mortimer) and Michael (Ben Whishaw) face the Great Depression of the late 1920s.

“I hope that, in this difficult time in the world, the film offers some solace, because it is authentic. As my husband says, it’s a dose of joy for the soul,” he added, referring to actor and director John Krasinski.
