Falling into temptation is a fact. On the other hand, no one needs to give up on staying in line after one abuse or another. “To get rid of the accumulated impurities after a few meals with excess fat, sugar, chemical additives (present in industrialized products) and alcoholic beverages, the recommendation is to adopt a detoxifying diet”, says Andrezza Botelho, a functional nutritionist from São Paulo, who created the five-day menu that you can find here. “In addition to rescuing the body’s balance, it helps you eliminate up to 2 kilos, serving as an incentive to follow a less restrictive diet later on”, explains Andrezza.
Symptoms of imbalance are felt in the body and skin – literally! “Dull hair, skin oiliness, acne and brittle nails are signs of the damage caused by an unregulated menu”, adds dermatologist Carla Albuquerque, member of the Brazilian Society of Dermatology. Other signs that the organism is intoxicated are: lack of appetite in the morning, bitter taste in the mouth when waking up, bloating, headache, dizziness, difficulty losing weight – even eating little -, gases, drop in libido and memory and concentration harmed.

Inside out
The detox diet foresees the consumption of fruits, vegetables, juices and teas that favor the purification of the cells and even accelerate the metabolism. Ingredients such as pineapple, watermelon, celery are rich in substances that improve digestion. Already linseed and psyllium favor the smooth functioning of the intestine. Green juice, with cabbage, lemon, parsley and ginger – a thermogenic that increases basal temperature and caloric expenditure – is excellent for accelerating metabolism. “It should be consumed at breakfast, when we absorb nutrients better”, explains Andrezza.
Note that milk and dairy products (rich in lactose) and bread and pasta (rich in gluten) appear in moderate amounts on the menu below. The explanation is simple: lactose and gluten proteins have very slow digestion and inflammatory action (swell and stew). Red meat is banned for these five days, as it increases the production of toxins. “I also suggest choosing organic products when shopping to reduce the intake of pesticides”, adds the nutritionist. Another peculiarity of the diet is to have six meals, including a tea right after waking up to combat fluid retention. Then you continue eating every two hours and you will quickly see the silhouette deflate and tune!

cold beetroot soup
Ingredients
. 1 big onion
. 3 large beets
. 2 chopped leeks
. 3 celery stalks
. 6 cup. (tea) vegetable broth
. 1 bay leaf
. salt to taste
Way of doing: peel the onion and beets. Cut all vegetables. In a pan add all the ingredients together with the vegetable broth, the bay leaf and the salt. When the beets are cooked, turn off the heat and let it cool. Remove the bay leaf and puree in a blender. Pass the soup through a sieve. Take the fridge for 2 hours before serving. You can freeze any leftovers.

Chickpea salad
Ingredients
. 1 cup. chickpea (tea)
. 3 col. olive oil soup
. 1 col. of lemon soup
. 4 medium tomatoes, peeled and sliced
. 1 can of sardines (strain the oil)
. 1 onion cut into thin slices
. Basil and salt to taste
Way of doing: soak the chickpeas for eight hours. Change the water, put it in the pressure cooker and cook for 20 minutes. In a bowl, add the olive oil, lemon and salt. Add chickpeas and stir. On a platter, arrange the tomato slices, the sardines and the onion, sprinkle with salt and basil and place the chickpeas. Take the fridge before serving.

anti-inflammatory soup
Ingredients
. 1 chopped onion
. 2 garlic cloves
. 1 col. (tea) olive oil
. 1 peeled and diced carrot
. 1 small yam
. 2 cup. (tea) peeled and chopped Japanese pumpkin
. 1 chopped Italian tomato
. 2 col. (tea) grated ginger
. 1 sprig of rosemary
. salt to taste
Way of doing: In a pressure cooker, sauté the onion and garlic in olive oil. Add the carrot, yam, pumpkin and tomato and sauté a little longer. Cover everything with water and pressure cook for 20 minutes. Purée the soup in a blender and return to the pot, allowing it to thicken a little more. Add the ginger, rosemary and salt. Serve immediately.
