Dear God, please lead me to Your light

The world is dark and heavy and I feel overwhelmed as I aimlessly pray to You. I feel lost and directionless, caught up in the endless trials of life. But inside I long for peace, longing for a sign of her presence in my most frustrating moments. God, please lead me into Your light, lighting my way to the life You created for me, drawing me to You in a warm embrace.

God, please bring me back to You. I found myself pulling away from his presence, feeling lost and alone, as I drifted further and further away from his touch. I lost the intimacy I had with you and I let vanity take control of my life, and only You truly know my way. I hope the Lord guides me back to the path that leads to You, welcoming me into Your arms as if we were never apart.

God, please remind me of Your presence. I looked to quench my thirst elsewhere, I looked for other loves that don’t lead to You and all this world gave me was frustration, hate and betrayal. I forgot to admire the beauty You created, the mountain tops that seem to touch the blue sky in an admirable relationship of love, the moments of joy and laughter in the midst of great pain.

Please light my way. I’ve watched the world around me fall apart, watching a promising tomorrow cloud in fear and uncertainty. I prayed in hopes of reaching You, begging You to heal all of Your creation and restore my faith in You. I hope that in the midst of my apprehension, the Lord will reveal the answers one by one, shining His light upon me, making way for all of His precious children to faithfully follow Him.

God, I stand before You in these troubled times, knowing You are with me, but struggling to see Your plan amidst the chaos of this life. I slowly drifted away from You, needlessly testing my own faith until I drifted away from Your never-ending love.

But please, God, lead me to Your light—an eternal faith in You, an unceasing hope for better days.
