Although the cosmetics market for curly hair growing, identifying the best products for curly hair can still be quite difficult. This happens because there is not only one type of curl: each person has their own structure.

Therefore, many people choose to consult the hair division when choosing how to take care of the locks. The idea is not so new, but there are still those who do not know it. It works like this: the threads are divided according to their shape (numbers) and texture (letters). “In a very brief way, the number represents the yarn category. Type 3, for example, are the curly ones, while type 4 refers to the curly ones. The letters, on the other hand, separate the types of curvature and thickness”, explains Lucia Santana, technical coordinator at Instituto Beleza Natural, in Rio de Janeiro.

2 – Wavy

It is thicker hair that is more resistant, with closed cuticles and easy to comb. “However, it needs greater antioxidant protection, as normally people with this type of yarn do many color processes, highlights and discoloration”, warns Lucia.

3 – Curly

They feature well-defined rings, which can be more or less loose according to the thickness of the wire. are more difficult to to comb than type 2, as they are thinner. “This hair has less shine and needs uniform lubrication, strength and definition”, indicates the specialist. Those in class 3c need a lot of hydration and sulfur products for strengthening.

4 – Curly

Very delicate and susceptible to internal damage, curly and curly hair can have less definition and more frizz. “They also need uniform lubrication and fiber alignment”, explains Lucia.
