Caroline Bittencourt’s husband is indicted for manslaughter

The Civil Police concluded this Friday (16) the inquiry into the death of model Caroline Bittencourt and indicted her husband, businessman Jorge Nogueira Sestini, for manslaughter (when there is no intention of killing). The case was forwarded to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which has the option of deciding that Jorge responds judicially for the death, requesting further investigations from the police or archiving the case.

If a complaint is offered, Jorge will respond in court for the death of the model. The decision was taken by delegate Vanderlei Pagliarini de Almeida Filho, as he considered the businessman negligent by not requesting that his wife wear a life jacket.

Model dies in sea accident

Caroline died at the end of April after falling from a speedboat during a gale that hit Ilhabela, on the coast of São Paulo. The model was on a boat next to her husband, Jorge Sestini, and the couple’s dogs. Carol would have jumped into the sea to save one of the animals during the storm and did not survive. Her body was found on a beach the next day, on April 29th. Jorge was rescued after swimming for about three hours.

The police believe that Jorge, the vessel’s pilot, acted recklessly by using a vehicle not intended for use in such bad weather conditions. Leonildo de Oliveira, owner of the vessel, had already stated in a statement in May that he had warned Jorge about the weather conditions, that is, the driver was aware of the risk in question, analyzed the police.
