“The main substance used in injectable fillers is hyaluronic acid, which, as it is biocompatible, is reabsorbed by the body in about a year. So, the ideal is to wait for this period before performing the rhinoplasty. This way, the doctor will be able to assess your nose as it really is to devise a strategy capable of providing satisfactory and, at the same time, natural results”, he says.

According to the doctor, it is possible to anticipate this process with the application of hyaluronidase, an enzyme that degrades hyaluronic acid quickly. “The substance must be applied at least 2 weeks before surgery, but it may not completely degrade the acid in just an application,” he says.
