Brenda Lee died saving her son during Orlando shooting

Last Sunday (12), the world witnessed the attack with the highest number of deaths by shooting in the history of the United States. The Pulse nightclub, in Orlando, was invaded by a 29-year-old man, armed, which left at least 49 dead.

In the unfolding after the dawn of horror, exciting stories emerge; as is the case with Brenda Lee McCool🇧🇷 The 49-year-old woman was a single mother of 11 and had already fought and beaten cancer twice. Her resilience was put to the test, once again, over the weekend.

She was with her son Isaiah, who is gay, and other family members at the venue where the massacre took place. According to his sister-in-law, in an interview with the newspaper New York Daily News, upon realizing that assassin was aiming in the direction they were, she shouted for Isaiah to lie down on the ground and hugged him to protect him with her own body. He survived, but she, unfortunately, did not survive.

Close friends have not spared kind words to describe Brenda. “She was an excellent mother and a great friend. She was always willing to help and was the kindest person in the world,” Khalisha, her eldest daughter, told NBC. The American also fought for the rights of the LGBTQ community (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Sympathizers).

Isaiah, of course, is devastated. “He saw his mother die and he saw everyone get killed. He feels that what happened was his fault ”, vented his sister.
