Blogger Bia Perotti’s house has the same style as the clothes in her closet

A collection of cameras, a wall filled with comics and mirrors, Polaroid-shaped photos displayed in different places, a series of images that refer to the painter Frida Khalo, butterflies, a pineapple-shaped lamp, drawings of birds and much more. At the home of fashion blogger Bia Perotti, 30, decoration lives in the details. She has been living for a year and a half in a 90 m2 apartment in Vila Mariana, in the South Zone of São Paulo, with her younger brother, Ricardo, 28.

But the arrangement of objects at the address, as well as the renovation project, is Bia’s work. When he found the space, located in an old building, it needed a good makeover. The first step was to outline a more modern floor plan. Kitchen and rooms were integrated and a toilet and a closet (for her) were created. Following this intervention, Bia’s first fixed idea took shape: an exposed brick wall in the living room. “I always knew I wanted this. It is one of the main references that appear in the images that I keep in a folder with decorating suggestions on Pinterest (a social network that allows photo sharing)”, he says. At first, the wall would be made of natural orange bricks.

When finished, however, Bia considered that this tone did not go well with the wooden floor, and ended up painting it white. Thus, the entire house became almost a neutral canvas to be filled with colors, prints, textures and details, such as those described at the beginning of the text. Those who follow her work on her Instagram profile (@biaperotti) and on the Osachados.com.br website, a mix of a fashion and lifestyle blog with e-commerce, know that Bia’s way of dressing has a boho and romantic atmosphere – she she loves knitwear, pantaloons, long dresses, lace, embroidery and anything that has a handcrafted look.

And it’s easy to see that her apartment, made with ideas that refer to these styles, is practically an extension of her wardrobe. As soon as you step out of the elevator, you can understand what’s to come. On the yellow wall in the hall, there is a painting painted by his mother, the artist Ana Perotti, with portraits of the Mexican painter Frida Kahlo inspired by the work of the Australian artist Emma Gale. Frida is one of the muses of Bia’s life and style and the outstanding composition created in the environment translates a bit of the living spirit of the house, also full of references to the connection that the blogger has with her family.

“My parents are great influences for me and I make a point of having things around that remind me of them,” he says.

One of the clearest examples of this is the choice to always have a chocolate orchid in the living room, as this is the flower that her father used to give her mother as a gift on special dates, since the beginning of their courtship.

“This plant tells their story and, consequently, mine”, explains the blogger.

In addition to presenting her with Frida’s painting, her mother also played an active role in choosing important items for the apartment. It was she who found the sofa, the headboard, made of wood and straw, the chandeliers in the bedroom, hallway and living room, and a drawer that serves as a chest of drawers. All these objects were acquisitions made in antique shops, another taste of the blogger’s parents that she ended up inheriting. “Since I was a child, I see them leaving São José dos Campos, in the interior of São Paulo, where I lived when I was younger, to come to São Paulo to visit antique shops. That’s where the attention to vintage comes from,” she recalls.

One of her aunts, Marisa Sacarpellini, an artist like her mother, also contributed to the decoration: the old tea cart that Bia turned into a bar and placed in the kitchen entrance was one of her pieces and the mirrored painting that is in her room, above a side table used as a nightstand and with a reproduction of the features of the Czech painter Alphonse Mucha, is one of his works. Known for being one of the most important names in the art nouveau movement, Mucha’s work is full of female figures – something that goes well with Bia’s personality. Another mirror with one of his creations is in the living room, next to a ballet barre she got from her father and where she rehearses, from time to time, some dance steps, which she has been practicing since she was 4 years old.

Graduated in business administration, she found herself professionally in the world of fashion blogs, became a respected name in the métier and, more recently, after having lived the experience of setting up her own house, she started to receive invitations to develop pieces and collections that imprint her style in the field of decor. “On my website, the second most searched topic is decoration. This happened because I started posting some photos of my apartment on my networks, ”she reports.

The first co-creation came last year, with ShopKola, and was a series of nearly 30 bird prints for wallpapers sold by the brand. Then, he gave life to items for Mercatto Casa, among which small paintings dotted with butterflies call attention. More recently, he developed floral designs and art nouveau elements for a My Gipsy Bossa line of furniture such as side tables and bar carts.

These jobs appear, naturally, in your home. On the brick wall in the living room, for example, there is a panel with butterflies (disposed over a photo of Frida). In the division between the living room and the kitchen, she placed a My Gipsy Bossa screen. Soon, it is possible that she will include in the decor a surfboard or another guitar, which are part of her latest collection for the brand. Whatever it is, the new piece will only help to reaffirm a well-defined style full of mixes that only those who understand know how to do.
